HRCharter Professional is a powerful tool for HR Professionals and other line managers. It combines advanced functionality for designing, printing and exporting charts with easy to use tools for organisational modelling.
Automatic Formatting and Layout
- Select the chart style and the starting point and HRCharter automatically draws and formats the information in the chart to make best use of the available space, whether the chart is to be viewed on the screen or printed and distributed.
- Add extra data to the chart using the intuitive drag and drop interface and HRCharter will automatically adjust the formatting and layout to fit the new data.
Fully Customisable Chart Content and Layout
- Apply a range of chart styles, including flat, overlapped, feathered, left or right justified.
- Change colours, sizes, backgrounds, etc
- Choose content from a list of predefined box styles or use the in-built "Box Editor" to create your own.
- Modify vertical and horizontal spacing, draw dotted line relationships or levelise by grade.
- Use multiple box styles in one chart. Select the entire chart or just part of it, apply a different style and HRCharter instantly refreshes the chart with the new information.
Powerful Box Style Editor
- Use the inbuilt box editor to add extra information to boxes in your organisation charts
- Choose from a list of predefined box styles or create entirely new box styles
- Include name, job titles, contact information, photos and much more.
- Save new box styles to the library so they can be used again
Integrate with a Wide Variety of Data Sources
- With integration, HRCharter Enterprise automatically creates dynamic organisation charts and employee directories from a range of different sources, including:
- ODBC connection
- HR system
- Other Data Source
- Changes in the database are automatically reflected in charts.
- Supports relational database tables, allowing a much wider range of information to be included in charts.
Conditional Mapping and Colour Coding
- Conditions can be set and employees or positions meeting these can be highlighted with a different colour or box style.
- See trends and patterns at a glance, for example highlight individuals or teams with a high level of absence, or use colours to show candidates' readiness for a particular role.
Multiple Reporting Relationships and Dotted Line Reporting
- HRCharter Professional Edition allows you to create charts based on multiple reporting relationships defined in the underlying database. These can include:

Organisation Planning
- Support for "what if" planning with drag and drop functionality to explore different scenarios. Move people, positions or whole departments, add or delete jobs or even create entire new branches, without affecting the underlying database.
- Delete, copy, mask or hide chart entries
- Create charts from scratch, starting with a blank chart
- "Collect" entries from any part of the organisation by querying the underlying database and dragging the entry directly onto the chart.
Advanced Searching and Select
- Powerful search engine allows users to quickly focus in on the information they need.
- Easily locate employees or positions within your charts.
- Assists with project planning, candidate search, etc. For example:
- Easily locate the most appropriate candidates for an internal vacancy
- Identify all high performance employees with specific language skills
- Jump between employees using the "find in chart" search option.
- Various select options allow you to choose direct subordinates, indirect subordinates, all positions with multiple incumbents, all vacant positions, all "assistant" level positions, etc.
Print High Quality Charts
- HRCharter allows you to print high quality charts in wall map or book format.
- Large charts are intelligently split across multiple pages depending on their size and intended use.
- Option to automatically include indexes for book charts.
- User defined headers, footers, page numbering and page breaks.
Chart Export
- Copy and paste all, or any part, of a chart into other documents, for example Microsoft ® Word or PowerPoint
- Charts can also be saved as graphic images in JPEG, PNG, EMF or BMP format.
Publish Completed Charts to the Web
- HRCharter Professional Edition includes a Web Publisher module which takes your completed charts and automatically publishes these to a corporate intranet or public website.
- No need to download a plugin: users can access charts instantly via a standard web browser
- Can be configured to run overnight so that up to date charts are published to the intranet on a daily, or even hourly basis.
Language Support
- The system includes support for Unicode offering the potential for the system to display data using Far Eastern, Russian and other non-Western characters.
